Pathways:

With the complexity of today's workforce combined with the increasing demands of 21st century skills, it has never been more imperative that our youth understand the importance of higher education and explore career options while developing skills to help them succeed in their future academic and career pursuits. Thus, Pathways: offers a unique experience for underrepresented and underserved high school students to explore and learn about higher education institutions and alternative career pathways.

The Pathways: program recognizes there are many paths to success, including four- and two-year colleges, trade and vocational programs, workforce development and many more options! Thus, through the Pathways: program we explore all of these amazing pathways with our students.

Pathways: participants engage in a variety of curriculum, events, activities, and discussions that enable them to participate in postsecondary and career exploration, develop research and critical thinking skills, set academic and personal goals, and experience a variety of learning methods that will help them have a successful and seamless transition from high school.

Due to a multitude of obstacles, many of these students who participate in this program may believe that success is unattainable or simply be unaware of the various pathways after high school. The program focuses on the philosophy of education combined with the right attitude, perseverance, options, and desire results in success. The Pathways: program is here to identify the potential pitfalls students can expect along the way; and our team will share personal stories of overcoming adversity and the endless opportunities offered to them. Program staff will stress the importance of receiving a high school diploma and continuing forward down whatever pathway is right for them!
